Photography is my portal to another world, my way down the rabbit hole, my periscope.

A disposable camera when I was ten started my journey.  From the beginning, the ability to look through a small sight glass and make what I saw, my photo, make it my own little canvas, which only I could paint on, struck me as magical.  Over the years that ability has consumed me.  Leading me from hobby to art.

Photography gives me a sense of accomplishment.  In photography, there is no right or wrong.   One can like or dislike, but they can’t tell me that I didn’t do it right, because it is what I see and what I want to be in the photo.   It gives me a vehicle into another reality.  It frees my imagination and provides many opportunities for a happy accident to give my photo a completely different look.

I don’t set out to produce art about one subject or another.   Some of my subject matter is about people's daily routines, a look into the normal everyday things that I see differently.  Some of my photos are my minds memories of an older, simpler time, not to far from the realm of the magnificent Norman Rockwell.   My influences are everything I see, feel and experience.  I see a photo in my mind before I ever pick up the camera.  So therefore my photos are directly related to my emotional state at that point in time.  And so the journey continues and the script still being written.
